The U.S. Postal Service (USPS (News - Alert)) has awarded telecom expense management (TEM) provider Rivermine a contract to deploy comprehensive TEM solutions for its entire data network nationwide.
As per terms of the deal, Rivermine (News - Alert) will deliver its solutions to automate the USPS’ existing TEM processes. The USPS said the Rivermine solutions will be used to help maintain a data network connecting approximately 400 distribution outlets and 37,000 retail locations.
Mark Logan (News - Alert), president and CEO at Rivermine, said that his company and the USPS share a common vision for an integrated end-to-end automated process from initial telecom service orders through invoice payment.
“We look forward to working with the U.S. Postal Service to achieve the highest level of visibility into and control over data network expenses—further reducing network costs,” he added.
Rivermine is a provider of automated TEM solutions that enable companies to gain visibility into, and control over, their telecom spend. Earlier this year, Rivermine announced that it received a Strong Positive rating in Gartner's (News - Alert) MarketScope for Telecom Expense Management Worldwide, 2007 report.
TEM solutions from Rivermine automate the entire telecom lifecycle including contract sourcing, ordering, inventory management, invoice processing/auditing and reporting/analytics.
Rivermine said the U.S. Postal Service joins more than 225 companies and major government agencies that have previously selected Rivermine.
This year in January, the USPS awarded AT&T (News - Alert) Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T Inc., an order worth $20 million task order to provide software verification and validation services for its automated mail-processing and sorting systems.
The USPS is an independent agency of the executive branch of the United States government, responsible for providing postal service in the U.S.
