Loquendo Releases MRCP Server 7.1.2

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Speech technologies provider Loquendo, a Telecom Italia (News - Alert) company headquartered in Turin, has announced the release of version 7.1.2 of the company’s MRCP Server.

Officials with Loquendo (News - Alert) say this latest version includes support for Linux operating systems in addition to new wideband audio support. RedHat Enterprise 4.0, RedHat Enterprise 5.2 and CentOS 5.2 are also now included as part of the added Linux support

These additions, officials say, will allow Loquendo to offer more speech technologies to clients and partners regardless of their platforms and will allow them to use the high quality audio necessary for speech in VoIP and multimedia environments.

MRCP Server makes it easy to integrate speech technologies thanks to a flexible client-server architecture that removes the need for technological expertise. The server solution can be used to add speech interfaces to large scale telephony applications to improve customer experiences and cut costs.

The offering was awarded a 2008 IP Contact Center Technology Pioneer Award from TMC's (News - Alert) Customer Interaction Solutions magazine.

Earlier this month, Loquendo also announced version 7.7 of Loquendo TTS with improved audio quality and a smaller footprint.

The company is also working together with Digium to build Asterisk (News - Alert)-based multi-lingual speech applications.

This integration brings Loquendo’s speech recognition and text-to-speech technologies to Asterisk users in 26 languages and 63 voices – making it easier create telephony deployments that use speech including auto-attendants, CRM apps, UC and self-service apps.
