US National Telecom (USNT) (www.USnationalTelecom.com), a rapidly growing VoIP telecom company, has signed an offer for the distribution rights to a popular VoIP telecom switch, according to a press release. USNT has also expressed its interest in investing on the switch company, which is now called VoiPSwitch. In case the investment plan goes through, USNT would make it second in a row in 2007. The first one was Vitelity Communications (News - Alert), which is based in Denver, CO. Apparently, the company hasn’t so far signed an agreement with VoIPSwitch for the investment.
US National Telecom (USNT) is a publicly traded VoIP technology company that is headquartered in Denver Colorado. USNT offers innovative solutions in the telecommunications field. The company’s focus is on the rapidly growing technology known worldwide as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). USNT’s growth strategy is essentially inorganic. It plans to build on partner companies, both through acquisitions of fast-growing VoIP companies as well as strategic alliances with established marketplace leaders. USNT’s goal is to become an Internet services conglomerate.
According to the company, there is a very high value in the VoipSwitch technology. The technology enables smaller companies to rapidly scale-up and become VoIP providers. Some of the key features of the softswitch include click-to-call, softphones and SIP phones, international call back, call shop, use of global telephone numbers, IVR for calling cards, and wholesale telecom services. The application is supported on Windows software. This is an additional advantage for several entrepreneurs who do not have the expertise to run, or the opportunity to learn how to operate the Linux operating system.
USNT intends to market the switch as “ReadySwitch”, which will be preinstalled on a Dell (News - Alert) premium quality server. The expected price is under $20,000, which is less than half of what most competing switch vendors charge for their products in this class. Additionally, there are no extra per-subscriber or per-channel license fees, which is a welcome feature.
In addition to this, the company will provide a hosting plan for the ReadySwitch, which includes instant access to worldwide voice traffic termination partners. As per estimates, sales of 30 such systems will generate revenues of around $400,000 to $500,000 for 2008.
Currently, the software-only edition of VoIPSwitch has been selling quite well. The only drawback is that there is no USA-based office, and it was not provided as a “plug and play’ switch.
