VoSKY Technologies, developer of the VoSKY Exchange PBX (News - Alert)-to-Skype gateway, is clearly looking to leverage its recent blessing from Skype as quickly as possible. In fact, having announced a co-branding effort with Skype in the UK only a week ago, Actiontec Electronics (News - Alert), VoSKY’s parent company, has secured an agreement with North American distributor Jenne Distributors.

 

Jenne is a commercial vendor of business telephony and convergence products, and has now signed on to sell the VoSKY Exchange, which, is a gateway appliance that enables Skype (News - Alert) calling via a businesses existing PBX system with now additional new hardware requirements.

 

The agreement calls for Jenne to offer its customers all five models of the VoSKY Exchange through its large base of resellers, many of whom have a pure telecom focus in the SMB market — which should prove an effective source of sales for the VoSKY line, which is specifically designed for the SMB. The VoSKY Exchange line will also be an effective complement to many of the other telephony product in Jenne’s product line, which includes equipment from the likes of Aastra, ADTRAN, Avaya, Citel, ClearOne (News - Alert), and more. In all, Jenne is a distribution channel for products from more than 150 manufacturers, including both traditional TDM and IP Communications solutions providers.

 

By adding the Skype certified VoIP gateways from VoSKY to its product line, Jenne is enabling its SMB customer base to further experience cost savings by using the same Skype service many of their employees are likely familiar with already. Now, however, they will be able to enjoy all the benefits of Skype calling from their existing office deskphones. In fact, it matters little what vendors solution they currently use, since VoSKY Exchange has been designed to seamlessly integrate with any existing TDM or IP-based phone system, providing maximum flexibility, maximum cost savings, with minimum hassle and additional investment.
