Sagemcom Awards Xerox "Partner of the Year"

By David Delony, Contributing Writer

While many people might choose to send email attachments instead of sending faxes, there are still plenty of cases when faxes are important. Sagemcom, a provider of fax server solutions, has awarded Xerox Corporation its Partner of the Year award in the Multi-function device category.

“For the first time, we want to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the top Sagemcom partners,” said Jean Champagne (News - Alert), general manager of Sagemcom Canada. “Xerox is an excellent partner for Sagemcom and it’s with great pleasure we recognize their efforts through this award.”

Sagemcom (News - Alert) bases its partnerships on shared goals and close collaboration. The company cited Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform, which allows customers to equip their multi-function devices to be able to send and receive faxes in addition to printing and making copies without having to install additional phone lines or fax kits, as the main reason for the award.

IP faxing is a new spin on an old technology, similar to how VoIP has revolutionized the way people make phone calls.

Sagemcom said it knows the benefits of partnership and is committed to the growth and success of its partners.

Xerox in turn has promoted Sagemcom to the status of “Gold Partner.”

“Sagemcom is proud of advancing within the Xerox Business Innovation Partners Program. Our increased collaboration with Xerox represents a paradigm shift in the way organizations approach electronic document delivery,” Champagne said.

Sagemcom’s XMediusFax software similarly allows multi-function printers to send and receive faxes without additional hardware, as well as allowing faxes to be sent to PCs and mobile devices instead of being printed out on paper. Businesses can also save money by finally switching to an all-IP based infrastructure, eliminating the legacy phone lines that traditional fax machine.
