GL Communications Introduces ISDN Analyzer

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

GL Communications (News - Alert) has announced the release of its ISDN Protocol Analysis and Emulation software.

The ISDN Analyzer includes a call trace feature that can isolate call specific information i.e. status of each call, duration of completed call and called- and calling party- number.

The Analyzer’s Call Detail Recording feature helps define the direction of the calls in a given network. It also forms logical groups consisting of unidirectional data links.

The ISDN Analyzer also supports filtering and search. GL claims that users can add any protocol field to the summary view, filtering, and search features and this provides them with more flexibility to monitor protocol fields.

“GL's ISDN analyzer can capture and analyze stream of frames on an ISDN PRI link. It decodes LAPD according to Q.921, while, the ISDN information parsing is done based on the user's selection of ITU Q.931, ISDN ANSI, AT&T (News - Alert)/Lucent switch 4ESS and 5ESS (TR41449, TR41459 and 235-900-342), Nortel's switch DMS-100 and DMS-250 (NIS-A2111-1 and NIS-A211-4), Bellcore National ISDN-2 (NI-2), Euro ISDN (ETS-300 102-1), ARINC 746, ETSI (News - Alert) 300-102, QSIG ETSI/ECMA, National ISDN PRI CPE, DPNSS, and DASS2,” said Jagdish Vadalia senior manager for Product Development of GL.

The ISDN Emulator supports nearly all ISDN standards and variants and includes one to four configurable signaling links and user friendly GUI for configuring the ISDN layer parameters. It also features quick configuration for called and calling number.

“GL's ISDN Emulator offers a complete solution for testing, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of devices and networks implementing PRI ISDN,” added Vadalia.

GL Communications supplies test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, IP and VoIP networks. The company was in news earlier this year for announcing the availability of its TDM Protocol Identifier Software, which is designed to identify various protocols carried on T1 or E1 lines.
