Axiomtek has announced the SHB105 PICMG (News - Alert) 1.3 single board computer based on the Intel 3450 chipset and designed to support the quad-core Intel Xeon 3400 series processors in the LGA1156 socket.

Officials with Axiomtek said that the SHB105 comes with two unbuffered ECC DDR3 1066/1333 MHz DIMM up to 8GB and six SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 10, 5 function. The SHB105 also features an integrated Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and Intel (News - Alert) Active Management 6.0 technology for higher security and easier maintenance.

Company officials said that besides it uses Intel Virtualization Technology, enabling the board to run different applications simultaneously using multiple virtual partitions. Axiomtek's SHB105 is ideal for security applications and network-intensive applications such as NVR, DVR, and visual inspection instrument.

"The SHB105 is our new PICMG 1.3 single board computer designed to support the server-grade LGA1156 Intel Xeon 3400 series processors with Intel 3450 chipset. The SHB105 provides server-class performance without sacrificing cost or reliability. Processors supported on the SHB105 also include the Intel Core(TM) i3/i5 and Pentium processors,” said Charles Zha, Product Manager of Product Manager of Embedded Board and Technology Business Unit at Axiomtek.

 Zha said that the features of Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel Hyper-Threading technology boost computing performance and increase 3D performance. This high performance single board computer also features an integrated Intel VT, Intel TPM 1.2 and Intel AMT (News - Alert) 6.0 for higher security and easier maintenance.

He said that moreover, this PICMG 1.3 slot CPU card meets all current requirements for the Windows 7.

According to company officials, to satisfy increasing demands for data transfer speed, Axiomtek's SHB105 provides six serial ATA ports integrated RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 function with transfer rates up to 3Gb/s. Other significant I/O features include twelve USB ports, two COM ports (RS-232 & RS-232/422/485), dual Gigabit LANs, VGA, DisplayPort, HD audio, and PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.

The SHB105 also provides reliable operation and non-stop capability with watchdog timer, as well as SMART FAN function controlling the fan speed to keep temperature within a specified range. The new generation session border controller platform is fully compatible with Axiomtek's PICMG 1.3 full-size passive backplanes, and we offer various industrial housing enclosures and have the capability to assist with any customer's industrial integration needs.
