Provider of session controllers for Tier 1 and other service providers Netrake, and NEC do Brasil, the broadband communications network supplier and integration services arm of NEC Worldwide in Brazil, today announced they reached an agreement through which NEC do Brasil will serve as primary reseller and systems integrator for Netrake's nCite VoIP session controller platform.
The new agreement asks for Netrake's nCite platform to now become an integral offering in NEC do Brasils VoIP and Next Generation Network (NGN) solutions for carriers. Together the companies say that they will provide the a solution to accelerating demands for security and fraud prevention, legal intercept, end-to-end quality of service (QoS) assurance and residential scalability in the emerging VoIP marketplace. As Netrake's primary systems integrator partner in that market, NEC do Brasil will incorporate nCite into its own laboratories, enabling customers to experience demonstrations and ongoing training at local facilities.
"Netrake's nCite session controller fit perfectly within NEC's determination to develop VoIP solutions which are best-in-class and bring a competitive advantage to our customers," said Daniel Scaion, NGN and VoIP solutions program manager for NEC Brasil. "Brazilian Service Providers developing residential and enterprise VoIP services can now be fully assured that our solutions will meet the highest security, quality, reliability and scalability requirements."
Netrake's nCite session controller provides residential, enterprise and wholesale VoIP service providers with a more secure traversal of firewall and network address translation (FW/NAT) systems, as well as denial of service (DOS) attack prevention through deep packet inspection at both the SIP signaling and VoIP media layers. nCite also provides end-to-end QoS assurance for each call across network borders. Additionally, nCite provides remote, automated configuration of all customer premises SIP phone and terminal adapter equipment through its element management system ( EMS) graphical user interface (GUI). Firewall/NAT-protected enterprise and residential users managed by this solution no longer require changes at the customer premises.
"Our nCite session border controller solution is now in the hands of one of the top equipment resellers and integrators in Latin America," said Micaela Giuhat, AVP Global Alliances for Netrake. "We are confident that this agreement will multiply both companies' opportunities to serve leading VoIP operators in one of the world's most exciting regions."
