Numara Announces Service Desk Software Solution with Unlimited Configuration Options

Numara Software, a provider of service management and asset management solutions for IT professionals, announced expanded, flexible options for hosted and Software as a Service or “SaaS (News - Alert)”-based delivery.

The software offers ITIL v3 compatible Numara FootPrints, IT service desk management solution with a set of flexible, on-premise and off-premise deployment options, including a subscription option with flexible choices for product functionality, the company said.

When customers use a product on subscription basis they would not sacrifice functionality or be forced into a specific configuration. The new offering helps in reducing the market gap where IT organizations are looking to shift between deployment models without the fear of being restricted, according to company officials.

According to company officials, Numara Software (News - Alert) SaaS customers can move from a subscription to a perpetual license model and receive credit for payments they have made under subscription.

Fred Broussard, research director, PC, Device and IT Service Management Software at IDC (News - Alert), said, “IT executives have been looking for flexible delivery models for IT service management.”

IT managers and CIOs, while focusing on service efficiency, want fluidity when changes occur. The SaaS providers force them to buy more than they use and lock them into long-term deployments causing unnecessary spending on deployment changes.

Numara Software helps customers choose subscription based pricing and perpetual license pricing.

The flexible feature allows the customers to pay for the modules they require. They can mix named and concurrent licenses, choose between hosted and on-premise infrastructure options and easily transition their solution in house while leveraging their subscription investment.

According to David Weiss, president and CEO of Numara Software, the company is focusing on helping its customers achieve their IT objectives for efficiency, cost management and service delivery to their own customers. “Our Numara FootPrints SaaS offering goes well beyond the SaaS options currently in the market in solving for IT’s range of needs today.”

Depending on changes in business patterns, customers have the advantage of shifting between the off-premise and on-premise versions. Depending on the fluctuations of cash and operating conditions, customers can choose to rent or own Numara FootPrints licenses, the company said.  

Earlier this year, Numara Software announced it is offering ‘multi-green’ power management software, TMCnet reported. It is one of the most effective methods for reducing energy consumption, while also curbing IT costs.
