It’s cloud or bust, with firms far and wide flocking. The network is the lifeblood of an organization, today empowering access to critical applications at anytime, from anywhere and setting the pace for productivity.

Fiber-based communications solutions provider, Zayo Group is acquiring SD-WAN and edge market leader QoS Networks, further promoting its premier market status. QoS will retain its brand, and operate as a division of Zayo.

With 5G adoption on the rise, Zayo extensive network, as well as optical and packet capabilities build the foundation for multi-cloud proficiency. In doing, is ready to meet the demands of a shift from private data center environments to edge and multi-cloud connectivity.

“This acquisition represents our commitment to, and investment in, our edge-to-core, edge-to-cloud and edge-to-edge network services portfolio,” explained Brian Lillie, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Zayo.

The edge represents the next iteration of service provider warring, riding the next wave of network and cloud innovation. The new Zayo division puts edge front and center with managed SD-WAN service. The purchase opens the door to a wealth of revenue opportunity in cloud hyperscalers investing in the edge, carriers investing in Fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) and multi-tenant data centers investing in the core.

For the enterprise, deliverables include real time control and visibility, consistent endpoint security and high quality network services with a global reach.

Frank Cittadino, CEO of QOS Networks noted, “Combining our end-to-end enterprise SD-WAN solutions and white glove services with Zayo’s best-in-class fiber and network expertise will allow us to unlock unique value for our customers in the software-defined layer. On behalf of everyone at QOS Networks we are excited for our next chapter with Zayo and we look forward to driving new solutions for our customers.”

The result here is a formidable pairing putting service providers on notice. BTW, QoS isn’t just a name, it’s a promise.
