Digital Transformation is a mandatory undertaking for businesses during the pandemic. Spanning the spectrum of verticals, from large and small, SMB to enterprise, change is in the air. And while, much of the working world en masse went home, retail store locations remain necessary.

TNS (Transaction Network Services (News - Alert)) announced the launch of TNS Secure SD-WAN, underpinned by the Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solution and empowering retailers with next generation network security and managed payment services.

Specifically speaking, TNS (News - Alert) Secure SD-WAN enables retailers to securely connect POS terminals, cash registers, ATMs, CCTV and offer guest customer Wi-FI securely. The future forward networking offering is an end-to-end managed solution that cuts the complexity of network management in an always-connected ecommerce environment.

“SD-WAN is already widely available to businesses, but TNS brings PCI (News - Alert) DSS compliant security credentials and global payments experience as a managed service,” said Bill Versen, Chief Product Officer at TNS. “Our SD-WAN solution enables merchants to prioritise their data usage centrally to secure their payments and business-critical systems.”

Next Gen stateful firewalls, antivirus features, SSL packet inspection and URL filtering bring the security piece to the TNS Secure SD-WAN managed services.

“Our partnership with Fortinet (News - Alert) focuses on the unique requirements of merchants needing to manage retail systems, protect sensitive card data and complete digital transformation sooner rather than later,” added Versen. “If the novel coronavirus pandemic has taught us anything, it is that omnichannel is more paramount than ever. It is a lifeline that enables delivery, curbside, and onsite, but it adds complexity and increased risk to payment transaction processing.”

Security is a constantly evolving entity. Throw in a pandemic, accelerated digital transformation efforts, and an eager hacker community, security cannot be an afterthought.
