Digital transformation is not an optional undertaking. Every day a new company begins its cloud journey, relying on trusted technology partners to ferry the process along. Finding the right partner to support this undertaking isn’t always as easy as it seems. In terms of SD-WAN, BT (News - Alert) is working toward being UK businesses’ preferred enabler.

BT announced the arrival of a managed SD-WAN service, a key piece of its converged business networking product portfolio. The Managed SD-WAN service is one of many more additions to the BT arsenal of offerings to come.

At the time of the service’s launch, BT is leveraging Cisco (News - Alert) SD-WAN powered by Viptela and Cisco SD-WAN powered by Meraki. Based on a customer’s network requirements, BT will select the appropriate solution to deploy. The Cisco, BT pairing began in 2018, and the duo will continue to build out the BT portfolio with Cisco-based NFV and SDN solutions to better support UK businesses with their transformation efforts.

The newly launched Managed SD-WAN service promises network agility and performance via transparency and traffic optimization, while also offering the peace of mind with robust security.

“Every organisation – whether big or small – is on a journey towards digital transformation. But their success depends on whether they have a solution that is robust, agile and intelligent enough to meet new business demands,” says Steve Best, MD, Customer Solutions, BT.  “From today, our business customers can benefit from a fully converged software defined solution that brings together the very best of BT. This includes fixed line connectivity, mobile data, dedicated security expertise, access to best-of-breed SD-WAN vendors and our enhanced proactive Managed Services with a single point of contact.”
