VeloCloud Brings SD-WAN to South Africa with Saicom Partnership

VeloCloud Networks has entered into a new partnership with Saicom, a South African telecommunications provider. For VeloCloud, this partnership means greater reach in the country for its Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN technology, while making Saicom the first VeloCloud registered partner in South Africa to provide SD-WAN services of any kind.

This news comes at a busy time for VeloCloud, which in February entered into another partnership with communications service provider (CSP) MetTel (News - Alert), helping it to make the shift to NFV via VeloCloud’s Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN. More recently, VeloCloud’s SD-WAN technology won the Intelligent Open Networking (IOPN) Award 2016 in the Best Service or Solution Combining Intelligence with Open Networking awards category from the Network Intelligence Alliance (NI Alliance) at MWC.

Now, VeloCloud is making its way into a new market, enabling Saicom customers to support application growth, network agility and simplified branch implementations, while delivering optimized access to cloud services, private data centers and enterprise applications.

“We are excited to announce that we have selected VeloCloud as our exclusive SD-WAN vendor,” said Greg de Chasteauneuf, chief technology officer at Saicom Voice Services. “We invested eight months evaluating all the players in the SD-WAN space and decided that VeloCloud was a perfect fit for us and our clients.”

Because distributed organizations today often struggle with application performance and WAN complexity in their branch offices, Saicom felt VeloCloud’s SD-WAN would be an ideal solution. After all, VeloCloud Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN technology offers the unique combination of VeloCloud Dynamic Multipath Optimisation, on-demand remediation across network connections, true multi-tenancy and zero touch deployment. In addition, VeloCloud enables bandwidth on demand, direct and optimal access to cloud applications, and simplified service deployment. In other words, Saicom’s customers never need to worry about application performance or WAN complexity again.

While VeloCloud already offers a worthwhile proposition to Saicom’s customers, the fact that its Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN is actually less expensive than existing MPLS VPN networks makes it an essential upgrade.
