Oracle (News - Alert) has launched the Oracle Communications Core Session Manager that is designed to give CSPs a new way to design, deploy and manage complex networking services and embrace next-generation technology. The new release is now available for telecom service providers and plays a critical role as the central control point that directs signaling flows through the network and between elements.
Oracle Communications Core Session Manager supports the rapid rollout of new, secure network services, including VoLTE and RCS, via enhanced core session control functionality – such as IMS roaming and interworking – to register subscribers for new services.
It enables support for multiple subscriber database and authentication options – including Open Standard for Authorization (OAuth) and the 3GPP-based IMS Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA) – for IMS, pre-IMS and OTT-based network topologies to help maximize network flexibility without compromising security.
CSPs can use on Oracle Communications Core Session Manager to virtualize and consolidate their network infrastructures decrease equipment costs and simplify new service creation and innovation.
Nancee Ruzicka, president of ICT Intuition, said in a statement, “Oracle Communications Core Session Manager enables CSPs to easily migrate to a fully virtualized IMS core, benefitting from the service agility and flexibility provided by NFV environments, while offering the interoperability, manageability and support CSPs need to be profitable.”
It complements the Oracle Communications Session Border Controller, and can be jointly deployed to leverage the SBC's field-proven security, reliability, interoperability and regulatory compliance features.
In addition, CSPs can rely on Oracle Communications Core Session Manager to virtualize and consolidate their network infrastructures, helping reduce equipment costs and simplify new service creation and innovation.
Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Communications, said in a statement, “Oracle Communications Core Session Manager provides immediate access to NFV functionality while offering leading-edge core session control capabilities to help protect network borders."
