Business telecommunication needs have changed vastly with the introduction of wireless and VoIP
technologies. The needs of each individual business now plays an important role in phone system implementation and should be considered before phone system choices are made.
Because needs vary from company to company and depend on various factors, there is no one-size fits-all phone system. For this reason, it is important to find a telecommunications plan that fits the company's specific needs. This, according to a recently published VendorGuru.com white paper can be resolved with three main decisions.
The white paper, "Telecommunications for Every Business," discusses the wide array of choices today's businesses have when implementing a business phone system, including conventional phone systems, VoIP, and integrated systems.
The three choices include deciding on which network the business will most benefit from--a conventional PSTN
and separate data network, or having the entire phone system migrated onto the data network.
Businesses must also look to the equipment offered by the network they choose such as IP-enabled phones for a VoIP network, or phone handsets for a conventional network.
Another important decision in the phone system selection process is deciding between a hosted service or an on-premise architecture. It is important to factor in the benefits of both options and consider those which make most sense for the businesses specific needs.
