deltathree Names Interim Boss

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

VoIP provider deltathree (News - Alert) has tapped an interim boss to lead its team following the recent resignation of Dror Gonen from his roles as chief executive officer, president and director.

The New York-based deltathree, which also focuses on the hosted communications solutions for resellers, end-users and service space, selected Effi Baruch, its senior vice president of Operations and Technology, to guide the company during a 45 day transition period. Gonen will leave the company after this period.

During his tenor Gonen helped transition the company through its recent corporate restructuring as well as a cost reduction and efficiency initiative aimed at stabilizing the business and bringing deltathree's operating costs in line with current revenues and market conditions.

“Our efforts in these areas have yielded measurable improvements and, combined with our recently-announced expected receipt of additional working capital, provide a stronger basis entering 2009,” said incoming CEO Baruch.

The company said Gonen is stepping down for personal reasons.

“Looking ahead, the Board of Directors and I are continuing to actively pursue a range of potential financing activities aimed at securing additional capital funding as well as transaction options," said Baruch.

Baruch will retain his position as senior vice president has served as Senior Vice

Baruch has been with the deltathree since 1998, joining the company as an engineer in the Network Operation Center and specialized in the management of data networks and security at the Wide Area Network (WAN) department. During the past four years he has headed the deltathree VoIP data and security departments, along with managing the overall responsibility of the deltathree worldwide network.

deltahtree currently supports tens of thousands of active users around the world and serves customers through its two primary distribution channels: the Services Provider / Reseller channel and the direct-to-consumer channel.

The deltathree certified a broad range of calling devices allows a single or multiple customers at a call shop to make low-cost, high quality calls to any phone worldwide using your dial-up (modem) or your broadband connection (i.e. DSL, cable, ISDN, T1/E1). No computer is required to make VoIP calls.
