Positron Telecommunication Systems, which makes telephony boards for SMBs that combine an Asterisk (News - Alert)-based PBX, media gateway, echo cancellation and Ethernet interface on an embedded PCI board, recently announced that it is partnering with VoIPon Solutions, a business to business distributor of the high quality voice over IP hardware, to expand distribution of its solutions throughout Europe.

According to a release, VoIPon will help grow Positron Telecom’s market reach in Europe with its large, well-established reseller base. The agreement is in keeping with Positron’s strategy to provide European resellers with a range of products that integrate VoIP and traditional telephony in stand-alone systems that combine ease of use with powerful functionality.

“VoIPon’s excellent track record and strong online presence make them an important partner in the European market,” said Richard McGravie, president of Positron Telecom. ”They have a reputation for providing high quality products that are backed up with great service, great support, and in-depth understanding.”

Positron’s standalone solutions provide complete PBX (News - Alert) functionality by integrating Linux, Asterisk and telephony ports on to a single PCI adapter. They can be installed as an Ethernet adapter into virtually any operating system, without the need for additional drivers.

 

VoIPon, a trading division of Keison International Ltd., specializes in open source technology such as Asterisk, an open source PBX system which provides a robust, feature rich, scalable and cost effective alternative to proprietary telephony solutions. The news follows on several recent reseller/distributor announcements from Canada-based Positron Telecom, which was founded in 2008 as a spin-off of Positron Holding Inc. The company, which launched its PBX PCI adapter solutions in the second quarter of this year, also recently announced distribution partnerships with Telephony Depot, Mapleleaf Technologies, DCS Americas, Rocksoft and IPConnectX.
