DataViz (News - Alert), a provider of password manager solutions, has just launched a major update to its desktop password manager application, making it available to iOS devices.
The password manager offers secure, easy to use password storage on iPhones, iPads, iPods and Windows computers, allowing users to keep all passwords, Web logins and other confidential information in one secure app.
"Passwords Plus is one of the simplest yet fully functional apps of its kind. The strong encryption coupled with intelligent security features ensures the data is kept safe,” said Bonnie Boyle, product manager at DataViz, in a statement. “Including the secure cloud synchronization and Windows version in the price of the iOS app makes this the best value in its category.”
The new password manager ensures secure password management using 256-bit AES encryption and synchronizes with a secure cloud server to provide users access to their information across multiple devices. Currently, 256-bit encryption is regarded as the best encryption standard by the government for top secret level documents.
Passwords Plus locks user private data with a master password chosen by the user. This master password is not stored anywhere, making the data completely secure. In addition, features such as "autolock" and "self-destruct" provide further protection in cases where a phone is stolen or lost.
The auto sync feature of the password manager offers an easy way to back up critical information by keeping devices in sync at all times. Also, whenever the user makes changes to Passwords Plus on any device, it will automatically synchronize via the cloud to ensure that the various devices contain the same information.
Passwords Plus is currently available at the App Store for a special introductory price of $1.99. The package includes everything—an iOS app, a free Windows desktop app and the backup and synchronization functions via the secure cloud storage.
Recently, TMCnet highlighted the innovative password manager from SplashData. Launched back in September, SplashID Enterprise works as a password management and security suite that can be utilized by organizations and be seamlessly integrated with either Windows or Mac OS platforms.
