Pingtel's SIP Expertise Highlighted in VoIP Developer Conference

By JOHANNE TORRES, TMCnet VoIP Minute Watch Columnist

TMCnet has news from Pingtel today, as the company gets ready to present its SIP InteroperabilityLeveling the Playing Field conference session during the last day of the VoIP Developer Conference in sunny San Francisco, California. The session will take place at the South San Francisco Convention Center on Thursday, August 4th from 1:30 to 2:15pm.

Labeled (SIP-03), the session will be presented by Bill Rich, Pingtel's president and CEO. The following is a description about the presentation:

"To level the playing field for enterprise communications products and applications, a well-defined, field tested and certified industry standard must be accepted, implemented and most importantly, adhered to when designing new VoIP and other IP communications technologies. SIP is that standard for IP enterprise communications. Creating customer choice via interoperability is a prerequisite to move IP telephony forward and will be a clear catalyst in helping customers cost-effectively migrate, at their own pace, from circuit-based communications to packet based. This presentation will discuss the opportunities for developers to create SIP-based applications and technologies that fit within the broader market ecosystem."

Another session taking place during Thursday's afternoon conference also includes Testing SIP Services through IPpresented by Ofir Michael, director of VoIP Solutions for RADCOM and Theofanis Vassiliou CEO of Testing Technologies. The session will provide step-by-step instructions on how to implement a robust SIP services testing program. From testing SIP entities, such as user agent servers, SIP proxy/redirect servers, location servers, registration servers, and application servers to SIP interconnection devices such as gateways and mediators, it is critical to test for standard compliance and signaling integrity as well as check performance under real-life and stress load conditions.

Attendees will also get a chance to learn everything there is to know about developing SIP-compliant solutions for the mobile user. This session, presented by Peter Sisson, president and CEO of Teleo, will teach attendees new ways to develop devices and services that allow users to take the savings obtainable with VoIP technologies wherever they go, be it in the office, while commuting, or at home.
