SugarCRM, a provider of commercial open source CRM software, has been selected by business media brand networking company, AlwaysOn, as one of the OnDemand Top 100 winners.

According to a press release, SugarCRM (News - Alert) was selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team and industry experts spanning the globe based on a set of five criteria namely innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value, and media buzz.

The OnDemand 100 winners were selected by AlwaysOn editorial team that conducted a rigorous three-month selection process to finalize the 2010 list. The list includes technology companies that were nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and industry insiders.

The complete list of the OnDemand Top 100 winners can be found on the AlwaysOn website.

"It is an honor to be acknowledged by AlwaysOn affiliates and its editorial team," said Larry Augustin, CEO of SugarCRM. "We are working closely with our partners to deliver low risk high impact CRM for customers across virtually every industry who require on-demand customized solutions."

"As the digital information created by businesses continues to explode at astronomical rates, the need to store, manage, analyze, and share this information is becoming extremely challenging," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "We congratulate this year's OnDemand 100 for providing the technology platforms and services needed to manage and leverage this new era of information complexity and overload."

According to SugarCRM, its open source model facilitates businesses to avoid the disadvantages associated with proprietary software, because the customers are provided with full access to the software's source code. This in turn provides businesses with complete flexibility via unlimited customization and integration capabilities.

Company officials said in the release that the company's deployment value proposition is inclusive of several options, such as vendor hosted-SaaS (News - Alert) supplied by SugarCRM and cloud-based delivery options powered by the Sugar Open Cloud ecosystem.

In addition, Larry Augustin, CEO of SugarCRM, will join executives from CloudShare, Zuora, Cloud9 Analytics (News - Alert) and Box.net in a lively panel discussion at the AlwaysOn OnDemand conference titled, "The Cloud Customer: Who is Driving Business-App Adoption?"
