Open Source CRM Provider Partners with DataSync to Deliver Small Business Apps

By Kelly McGuire, TMCnet Editor

After the recent Skype (News - Alert) integration with open source customer relationship management, or “CRM,” provider, SugarCRM’s applications, the company seems to be an unstoppable force in the CRM market.

Now, SugarCRM’s (News - Alert) collaboration with DataSync, a provider of integrated software-as-a-service, or “SaaS,” systems, to deliver a suite of small business applications to small businesses has cemented the company in the call center management industry.

Jeff Campbell, vice president of Sales at SugarCRM, said that DataSync’s momentum and success will assist SugarCRM to deliver superior value to customers with open source systems.

“We are thrilled to partner with DataSync as they address this underserved portion of the CRM market,” Campbell said.

Under the agreement, DataSync will now offer SugarCRM’s Professional application as part of its standard software package.

Additionally, the companies will work together on a marketing and sales promotion to acquire the Professional licenses. According to company officials, this new partnership is effective immediately.

"This partnership with SugarCRM introduces a solution that is a first in the industry by delivering a complete, affordable open source suite to small businesses who have little or no IT resources," said Mike Vetter, CEO, DataSync.

DataSync’s software eliminates dual-entry and helps simplify a company’s CRM system. These traits, combined with SugarCRM’s entire CRM application with features including sales, marketing, support, reporting, mobile, collaboration and platform, users can utilize all the abilities of SugarCRM’s products, on a scale fit to suit their small businesses.

“By partnering with one of the leading providers of customer relationship management software, we have a great opportunity to further extend our unique value proposition to small business users,” Vetter said.
