CRM Week in Review

By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Web Editor

This was an exciting week for CRM. TMC had the opportunity to meet with many up-and-coming CRM companies at an open house on August 12. Early in the week, we learned that Intelestream (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of online CRM consulting and online CRM Software as a Service, has added a complete Order Management Solution to the online CRM application intelecrm.

Officials with Intelestream said that the Order Management solution, which is specifically designed to meet the complete requirements of small and medium sized businesses, is available for all the company’s customers running the enterprise edition of intelecrm.

Company officials said that key features of the Order Management Solution for intelecrm include the ability to generate, track, customize, and report on quotes, sales orders, and invoices.

We also learned that Pro-Bel Enterprises Ltd., a major player in providing suspended access and fall protection equipment, has built several custom applications on Force.com to run its business in the cloud.

Force.com, which is Salesforce.com's (News - Alert) enterprise cloud computing platform, provides everything companies need to quickly build and deliver business applications in the cloud, including the database, unlimited real-time customization, powerful analytics, real-time workflow and approvals, programmable cloud logic, integration, real-time mobile deployment, programmable user interface and website capabilities.

Officials with Pro-Bel said that the company is using custom applications built on Force.com to simplify its building project lifecycle, increase productivity and reduce project turn-around time.

We witnessed SugarCRM, a provider of open source customer relationship management software, being selected by AlwaysOn as one of the AlwaysOn Global 250 winners.

Officials with SugarCRM (News - Alert) said that inclusion in the AlwaysOn Global 250 signifies leadership amongst its peers and game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players in the Global Silicon Valley.

And later in the week we saw how Enterprise systems management software developer Quest Software (News - Alert) recently announced that its managed services platform, PacketTrap MSP, is now available with Live Virtual Help Desk.

Live Virtual Help Desk is a ‘Live’ help desk/network operations center support service for managed service providers. With the new service, MSPs can delegate the general support calls as well as maintain the company brand.

A services enablement tool, PacketTrap MSP allows MSPs to remotely monitor and manage their clients' IT assets. Company officials said that the solution provides granular details of problems associated with the desktops, servers and networking devices that need immediate action by MSPs.
