Taipei, Taiwan-based AEWIN Technologies, a manufacturer of applied computing platforms, recently came up with a new 1U appliance called SCB-7975, which has been designed for a broad range of network service applications including gateway security, UTM network management, load balancing, WAN optimized acceleration and VOIP gateway applications.
Aewin’s SCB-7975 is based on the Intel (News - Alert) Q35 chipset with on-chip PCI Express x4 and x1 lanes for high-speed Ethernet data processing. It supports a max 1333Mhz Front-Side Bus speed and 800Mhz dual-channel DDRII memory for greater data processing performance.
Dedicated to its green policy for protecting the environment, the SCB-7975 employs a high-efficiency, 80-plus power supply unit which can improve efficiency performance of electric power. It also features a unique thermal design that enables effective heat discharging.
AEWIN claimed that SCB-7975 has been designed to deliver outstanding scalable performance based on the Intel Core 2 Quad network processor with correlating companion chipsets. AEWIN offers its customization service for the new solution to ensure both flexibility and cost efficiency.
“The computing power of Intel multi-core processors is not only for ultra-high performance appliances, but due to their moderate pricing, can also be applied to mainstream applications,” vice-president of AEWIN Corporation, Mario Tsui, said in a statement.
AEWIN further informed that its currently offering interested customers four sample SKUs for evaluation. These include:
SCB-7975A-A: 10 GbE ports (RJ45 x 10, 2 segment by-pass option)
SCB-7975A-B: 10GbE ports (RJ45 x 10, 2 segment by-pass option), Cavium Nitrox cn1610
SCB-7975A-C: 10 GbE ports (RJ-45 x 6 & SFP x 4)
SCB-7975A-D: 6 GbE Ports (RJ45 x 6, 1 segment by-pass option)
AEWIN ensured that post evaluation, a team of customization expert will create a unique product tailored to the client’s unique specifications.
Earlier this month AEWIN Technologies announced the launch of SCB-8960, the latest networking platform with up to 32 Gbe LAN. The company said that SCB-8960 has been designed as a 2U rack-mounted platform designed with Intel i7/i5/i3 multi-core processors for high performance.
