Create High Value Knowledge Management Software with Cloud Communications
By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor
You cannot turn a corner these days without hearing about the latest development in cloud communications. It’s on the cusp of everyone’s conversation as older methods of communication drift towards the cloud. In a free webinar conducted by Thomas Howe (News - Alert) of Light and Electric, and sponsored by OnState Communications, Patrick Kelly, CEO discussed deployment, approaches, and business cases with cloud communications. He reviewed various applications including IVR, VoiceXML, hosted PBX (News - Alert), and call center systems.
The webinar reviewed the basics of deployment into the cloud, what makes the cloud a secure and dynamic place to host software solutions, and various success stories from customers who have benefitted from switching to the cloud. Howe remarked that “there are a very small set of things that truly identify” cloud communications, but first and foremost it is an “on demand communications service and application.” The multi-modal capabilities of the cloud allow businesses to build scalable solutions for anything from call recording to knowledge management software.
In terms of applications, hosted PBX, hosted IVR, and hosted call centers are all simplified with the cloud. Call centers are expensive to maintain, but the cloud does not require any hardware deployment. The cloud also allows for workers’ mobility so there aren’t any elaborate agent centers to maintain.
