Consona Corporation  has introduced the latest addition to the Encompix (News - Alert) ERP product, Shop Floor Data Collection version 1.0.

SFDC is offered as a complement to Encompix, an ERP system for engineer-to-order  and project-based manufacturers. Company officials said that it promotes time and cost savings and improved data accuracy with additional automated processes.

The Hendrick Family of Companies, a manufacturer of cutting edge solutions for perforated, fabricated and screen metal material, has been a client of Encompix for over ten years.

Currently, their four divisions are using Encompix ERP solutions. Company officials said that they are in the process of moving forward with the new SFDC v1.0.

“We plan on improving inventory accuracy and order processing throughout our entire shop and organization. We look forward to profiting from the real-time inventory and improving our raw material labeling accuracy,” said Rommel Malay, IT manager at Hendrick.

The company’s decision to further its business relationship with Encompix and Consona (News - Alert) was clear-cut, Malay said, adding that their “unparalleled” customer service support and technical expertise made this a natural progression.

A top ERP solution in the project-based and ETO industry, Encompix has been designed to handle the unique business challenges of engineering-intensive companies. Building on the Encompix suite of products to offer automated data entry, SFDC helps facilitate better materials management decisions; reduce costs by providing a clear picture of inventory levels; and accelerate inventory turns and improve cash flow.

Company officials said that automated shop floor and receiving transactions also improve data accuracy and save time, while decreasing errors caused by manual entry.

Also due to thin-client architecture, SFDC supports a wide range of data collection devices such as hardwired units and mobile RF handheld devices from vendors like Intermec (News - Alert), Symbol and Computerwise.

Company officials said that consequently, any existing hardware can be easily integrated with other hardware devices on the same network and managed via a single tool, eliminating any additional infrastructure costs.

O’Nell said that now augmented with the SFDC, Encompix will continue to be the solution these companies turn to for improved operational efficiencies that make a significant impact on their bottom line.

SFDC v1.0 is now available for Encompix versions 9.4 or higher.

Earlier this year in July, the company released Consona Service Gateway (News - Alert) 4.1 (SG 4.1), previously known as SupportSoft ServiceGateway.
