The HIMSS 2011 conference held from Feb. 20 – 24 provided a platform to link people, potential and progress as they collaborated in an effort to put the patient first. Healthcare and biopharmaceutical professionals, among others, discussed healthcare transformation through IT and its meaningful use, including the role of such technologies as IVR. The possibilities were limitless, much like the exhibit hall floor; and the goals were focused, exemplified by the hustle and bustle put into action by extensive planning.

Healthcare providers say IVR systems and speech recognition technology can produce staff reductions, improve report turnaround times, and increase physician satisfaction, according to a new report from KLAS titled, “Speech Recognition 2010: Vocalizing Benefits,” The report includes feedback from 355 providers.

It is apparent that IVR systems and messaging are becoming increasingly prevalent in today’s healthcare and biopharmaceutical industry. For example, Angel’s work with MedApps, a medical technology company specializing in remote patient monitoring systems. Angel was faced with the challenge to quickly provide call routing and an alert system with no up-front costs, provide modification capability to alerts and routing options, and report call and alert data back to MedApp databases. Therefore, Angel implemented its IVR and Call Routing Application. As MedApps President, Kent Dicks, commented, “The beauty of the Angel solution is that it’s fully hosted, making it very cost-effective, as well as simple to deploy.”

Angel’s involvement and implementation in the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industry continues to grow. Take for instance, the fact that the increasing use of mobile applications is changing the game in biopharmaceuticals, accelerating internal productivity and supercharging customer outreach programs. With this in mind, Angel is offering an informational webinar to learn how biopharmaceutical companies are using mobility to revolutionize the way in which they conduct business and improve the bottomline. Those who should attend are those pharmaceutical managers or directors with responsibilities or involved in the following areas.
