IVR Service Provider Unveils Telephone IVR Payment Modules for Utility Companies

Datatel Communications, a provider of PCI (News - Alert) compliant IVR Telephone Payments in the Cloud, announced a new suite of Telephone IVR payment modules for Utility Companies.


The solution supports both credit card and ACH payments and removes the collection and transmission of customer credit card information away from Live agents, and in-house self-service IVR's. The process helps utility companies achieve PCI compliance while enabling them to extend 24/7 bill payments to their customers using a credit card or chequing account.

With this service, Datatel helps businesses address specific Payment Card Industry security requirements (PCI-DSS), by providing a simple to implement solution in the cloud to offload the collection and transmission of sensitive credit card information collection from live agents, and internal Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems.

Additionally, if live agents do not work 24/7, businesses can extend telephone self-service payment options to its customers.

Telephone IVR payment modules can reduce costs and time of implementation by employing IVR credit card processing templates designed for their specific for their industry. These industry specific templates allow faster and less expensive implementations.

With this solution, Datatel Communications is also able to develop relationships with software providers in the utilities space, said Barnard Crespi, co-CEO of Datatel. 

Recently Datatel Communications announced the addition of IVR customer satisfaction survey capabilities to its platform, enabling businesses and call centers to measure customer satisfaction immediately after a payment has been completed.

The service combines IVR Credit Card payments over the telephone and customer satisfaction IVR surveys. It helps businesses and call centers meet critical business objectives, meet payment card industry security requirements (PCI-DSS) and measure.

Datatel is also working with billing and account management software providers to create tighter integration. This, according to company officials, will help utility companies implement real-time telephone payments with minimal effort, and achieve significant cost reductions.
