IPitomy (News - Alert) has launched a new IP290 SIP enterprise HD phone that can deliver a cost effective end point for large VoIP and IP PBX deployments made in educational, government and commercial organizations.

The company specializes in designing IP PBX (News - Alert) solutions and high definition telephones for VoIP. The new IP290 HD SIP phone, made available through IPitomy dealers, will serve various business applications, according to officials.

The phone is competitively priced, and meets the requirements for a highly functional HD phone in a simple compact package.”

The IP290 features a five-line backlit display that is viewable from all angles, while its four multifunction soft-keys make it easy to use. The device also now supports the g.722 high-definition codec. The audio design and full duplex speaker also significantly improve sound quality.

Officials explained that the IP290 SIP phone has been designed to handle up to two simultaneous calls. It can be positioned conveniently on an adjustable base or can be wall mounted using an integrated wall mounting provision.

In keeping with the other phones in IPitomy’s product lineup, the IP290 can also be set up as a remote phone. To do so does not require additional licensing and depends on simple programming. This enables users to work from home or from a remote office.

The device forms part of the IPitomy HD phone family. Its basic function keys include three way conference, hold, transfer, redial, voicemail and headset keys. Being compact in size and shape the device can be installed on a desk and used for all office applications.
