Communicating over the Internet in your organization usually means using VoIP, and while there are services like mobile VoIP, sometimes you just want a little extra room to talk without adding a completely new component to your communications system.
Yealink (News - Alert) recently introduced its DECT Phone Repeater, the RT10, which extends the coverage range of Yealink’s W52 IP phone with no extra wiring. The W52P is a SIP cordless phone system designed for small businesses and small office/home office (SoHo) and is powered by Yealink’s DECT (News - Alert) VoIP chipset, which includes an ARM926 application processor and DSP processor. DECT stands for “Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications” and enables mobile workforces – the DECT Repeater extends the signal coverage according to individual needs.

Indoors, the working distance can increase from 50m to 100m in seconds. Outside, the conversation range can increase from 300m to 60m, ensuring quality reception in remote areas.
It can connect up to six individual repeaters to each base station. Every repeater can also handle two simultaneous calls, increasing the call handling capacity for each base station by four.
The DECT Repeater is designed in accordance with the DECT standard, which uses time division multiple access to transmit radio signals to phones, and is also compliant with TBR6, TBR22 (Generic Access Profile, GAP), plus ETS 300 700 – ETSI (News - Alert) Wireless Relay Station Specification.
The W52P IP phone delivers enhanced versions of standard IP DECT phone features and accessories, such as call waiting, LCD screen, speaker phone and headset. The DECT wireless technology makes the phone portable without compromising on voice quality. It also delivers excellent call quality, exceptional security and great range, without causing interference to your existing wireless networks.
