ScanSource Communications, a distributor of communications products, announced that it has extended its distribution relationship with IP Phone (News - Alert) Maker ShoreTel, a provider of desktop phones with fully integrated unified communications.

As part of the expansion of the relationship, ScanSource Communications, a sales unit of ScanSource, will offer ShoreTel's (News - Alert) IP phone systems integrated with unified communications.

ShoreTel's product offering includes IP phone systems with built-in UC and integrated contact center capabilities.

“ShoreTel and ScanSource Communications have shared a common goal since the inception of the partnership - both companies are committed to helping resellers grow their business by offering industry-leading communications solutions to their end-user customers,” said Buck Baker, president, ScanSource Communications, in a statement. Following the partnership with ShoreTel, ScanSource Communications is planning to offer a focused sales and business development team, training and education opportunities, marketing support, and value-added services to ensure the success of partners.

ShoreTel has expanded its Champion Partner Program to a two-tiered program that gives resellers the option of working with industry-leading value-added distributors like ScanSource Communications.

Last year, ScanSource Communications announced that it entered into an association with IBM (News - Alert) and ShoreTel to distribute an integrated unified communications solution. ScanSource Communications will offer the total UC solution, named ShoreTel for IBM Lotus Foundations, to its reseller partners.

Recently, ShoreTel announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)) named ShoreTel for IBM Foundations as a 2010 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner presented by its publication Unified Communications.
