snom Broadens IP Phone Systems for SMBs with snom ONE mini

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Managing Editor

Aside from its impressive portfolio of IP phones and telephony equipment, one thing you can count on when it comes to snom technology AG (News - Alert) is the company is never short of news. Building on the success of the company’s snom ONE IP phone system, today, the IP phone provider announced the expansion of its IP PBX (News - Alert) portfolio with the snom ONE mini, a compact business telephony system for the small office home office (SOHO) and small to medium-sized business (SMB) markets.

The only thing small about the mini is its size as it delivers big business IP PBX features with an affordable price tag (News - Alert) and a small form factor that is ideal for SMBs.

The snom ONE mini is built on standards-based SIP technology and provides resellers with a plug-and-play business telephony solution for small organizations that is pre-installed and configured with snom ONE IP PBX software for easy and affordable deployment with snom business IP desktop phones and endpoints.

Measuring at only six inches by six inches, the mini also comes pre-installed with snom ONE IP PBX software, providing the same suite of built-in features as the snom ONE Yellow software. snom ONE Yellow includes a 20 extension package, voicemail and auto attendant, ACD Agent Groups, Web-based management, cell phone integration, remote worker support and other advanced functionality.

Mike Storella (News - Alert), COO of snom, told TMCnet that the in line with “bring your own” methodology that is transforming the industry as we know it, the snom ONE mini promotes a “bring your own server,” mentality that is unmatched for small to medium sized businesses looking for the advanced features an enterprise solution would offer.

According to Storella, the idea behind releasing the snom ONE mini to the public came from a small set top box that was used for training sessions. The VARs were so receptive to the small form factor of the box that the production of creating the snom Mini became a no brainer.

“The snom ONE mini addresses a critical need for an affordable, full featured business phone system for the underserved SOHO market,” Storella added. “The new snom ONE mini is ideal for a small professional services organization such as a real estate, law or consulting firm requiring a fully integrated phone system with a very small form factor and full suite of premier communications features.”

Available now, the snom ONE mini lists for $599.00 and is available worldwide through snom distributors and value-added resellers. Storella anticipates that it will be ideal for smaller offices, doctors or dentists, and people working from home as the mini provides an identical phone system to the one located at the central office.

In terms of forward looking plans for the IP phone provider, Storella said snom is still very heavily focused on continuing its interoperability initiatives with Microsoft Lync and is currently testing more of its phones to roll out in the near future to add to the four that have already gone through the process.
