snom IP Phones Now Interoperable with SIP Print's Call Recording Platform

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Managing Editor

snom technology AG (News - Alert), provider of IP phones and VoIP equipment, has added a new technology company to its list of  partnerships: SIP Print (News - Alert), maker of SIP-based call recording, accounting and management software.

After rigorous compatibility testing, SIP Print’s call recording platform is now interoperable and integrated with snom’s portfolio of IP phones including the snom ONE plus IP PBX (News - Alert) appliance. By joining forces, SIP Print and snom will provide businesses interested in preserving VoIP calls for organizational or compliance benefits with an all-in-one solution for recording calls.

According to the release, the partnership will offer smaller companies and organizations an enterprise-class solution for call recording and accounting in a package designed specifically for SMBs. The snom-SIP Print combination will provide an easily installed and managed, end-to-end solution with minimal capital investment, according to snom.

“We strive to make our phones and IP PBXs as versatile as possible, and interoperable with all SIP-based functions and business applications,” said Mike Storella (News - Alert), COO of snom. “This partnership is a perfect example of how two companies providing valuable services for the SMB market can work together to create cohesive operating environments while also broadening a combined market.”

The snom ONE IP PBX is a perfect candidate for the interoperability as it is based on standards-based SIP technology and is a versatile VoIP communications platform for SMBs with five to 150 extensions or more. The snom ONE offers all the functionality available with VoIP telephony, including call waiting, call forwarding, centralized address book, conferencing and simultaneous ringing of cell phones and desktop phones. The snom ONE plus allows businesses to put all of the features and functionality of the snom ONE IP PBX in an on-premise hardware solution.

“As VoIP-based call traffic continues to grow, call recording for compliance and records keeping is becoming more and more important to many kinds of businesses and organizations, including SMBs, yet many solutions are expensive and aimed at larger enterprises,” said Donald Palmer, CEO of SIP Print. “By validating our interoperability with snom, we are presenting an end-to-end recording platform that is readily available for the SMB market and can make the whole process a much more simple and cost-effective affair.”

SIP Print’s call recording appliance comes in various sizes, ranging from 15 seats to more than 200 seats. It provides a searchable database of calls, archived in .wav format for easy control of playback and integration. The appliance is also CALEA compliant.
