Telcom & Data, an IP phone maker and provider of VoIP phone paging solutions, announced its new offering -- CyberData (News - Alert) IP addressable drop-in ceiling tile speaker for VoIP phone paging.

CyberData is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) design and manufacturing firm specializing in IP Endpoints for the VoIP marketplace, VoIP and POS (Point-of-Sale) connectivity solutions, and POS protocol conversion technologies.

The new speaker delivers excellent sound quality. The solution is easy to install and finds the best use in schools, universities and commercial buildings with VoIP phone systems. The paging system can be used with majority of SIP-based IP PBX (News - Alert) and can play audio from a multicast source in a non-SIP setting.

The IP phone systems use a Power over Ethernet (PoE) network. In these systems, connecting overhead paging systems typically involved employing a VoIP gateway to connect analog speakers. The new CyberData’s IP drop-in ceiling tile speaker provides a perfect installation alternative.

The ceiling speaker is a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) loudspeaker that connects easily into local area networks. As it eliminates the need to cut a hole in the ceiling, installation time is cut by 70 percent. Further the 1’ x 2’ “drop-in” design makes it easily fit into most ceiling.
