Grandstream Announces New Partnerships, Projects

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

There’s been a lot of interesting news from IP multimedia phone provider Grandstream Networks (News - Alert), so let’s get you caught up on the latest. The company has expanded its interoperability and reseller status with partners worldwide, and so far this month has announced three new partnerships.

In the first, Vidanetwork certifies Grandstream for VoIP, Video over IPaApplications. This joint effort is aimed primarily at service providers deploying cost-effective voice or video over IP to SMBs and enterprise customers. The purpose of the partnership, in Grandstream officials’ words, is to give such clients the ability to “seek best value solutions from Vidanetwork and Grandstream.”

Vidanetwork provides host and premise-based VoIP application software, and has certified Grandstream's GXP21xx/14xx series enterprise HD IP Phones and the GXV31xx next-generation IP Video and Multimedia Phones as being “interoperable with Vidanetwork's Global Office and VOffice Pro platforms,” company officials say.

Grandstream has also conferred Certified Reseller Status on Stonehedge Telecom, a single source voice communications and hosted IP PBX (News - Alert) provider.

Stonehedge added a Grandstream IP voice/video telephony equipment portfolio to its suite of product offerings. Following testing, Grandstream officials say, certification “now brings the opportunity for Stonehedge to further enrich the value and benefits of their hosted PBX offerings to their customers.”

Ralph DiSciullo, president of Stonehenge Telecom, said the company opted to pursue a partnership with Grandstream “as their R&D, production capabilities and quality really set them apart from the competition."

And Grandstream now integrates with SURiX SIP VoIP door phone systems. SURiX is a Latin America manufacturer of door phone systems connectable to telephony networks. They’re generally used by buildings and gated communities.

SURiX officials say they will now offer Grandstream SIP Phones with its Door Phone (News - Alert) Systems, “with and without an IP PBX,” for what Grandstream officials describe as a “low cost option for door phone and IP telephony integration and value added resellers.”

Also in September, TMC’s Rajani Baburajan wrote that DSP Group (News - Alert), a global provider of wireless chipsets for converged communications at home, announced a partnership with Grandstream to integrate DSP Group's XciteR VoIP chipset into Grandstream's new high-definition (HD) voice IP desktop phones.
