Interwise Connect for Documentum Enhances Project Collaboration

By Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet Assistant Editor

IP conferencing and collaboration provider, Interwise, is stepping up in the Unified Communications space today, with the announcement of a new solution that brings together live business meetings and enterprise content management (EMC (News - Alert)) to improve project collaboration.

With the new solution, Interwise Connect for Documentum, key businesses activities that occur during face-to-face meetings, video, Web, and voice conferences are transformed into real-time content that can be stored or managed for later use.

This is an answer to the latest trend in enterprise content management—the storage of transactional material to increase project collaboration. It also brings together traditional and next generation communications solutions for the enterprise, to further their efficiency.

"Important information is exchanged during business meetings that when stored intelligible for reuse, had great potential to improve corporate agility, business performance and compliance capabilities. We are pleased to be teaming with EMC and look forward to bringing more high-value offerings to market," commented Frank Zvi president and CEO of Interwise in a statement.

The solution makes it possible to store live information from meetings and content from other enterprise applications including email and ERP applications.

With the solution, users are able to perform functions from directly within EMC Documentum including the scheduling of meetings, inviting of participants and uploading of meetings and materials for later use. Once stored within Documentum, they are able to also categorize and better organize all transactions and communications.

The company also announced today enhancements to their Interwise Connect for eRoom offering also available with the EMC Documentum to improve real-time capabilities including Web meetings, virtual classes, video conferences and Web seminars.

Both solutions received accreditation with a "Designed for from EMC Documentum" quality approval. According to a news release, "Interwise Connect for Documentum and eRoom received design accreditation by meeting high standards for application design, development, configuration, installation processes and overall quality."

"By providing Interwise Connect for Documentum and eRoom as a packaged offering based on our platform, Interwise is extending the scope of our customer's distributed team collaboration efforts," commented Rob Tarkoff, Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Alliances at EMC.
