Citel, a company that specializes in hosted IP solutions, recently announced that it won a 2006 Product of the Year Award from INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine. The company was recognized for its EXTender IP6000 IP-PBX system.
EXTender IP6000, which provides a cost-effective path to IP telephony deployments, is designed specifically for remote branch offices and call centers. The product is part of a suite of solutions—which includes the PBXgateway line—that eliminate the need to support multiple PBX (News - Alert) and Key systems at different locations.
In its announcement about the award, Citel explained that the IP6000 expands upon the company’s EXTender line, offering enhanced flexibility and a very low price-point.
“The EXTender IP6000 provides a future-proof way for enterprise customers to gain the benefits of voice-over-IP today, by fully leveraging existing infrastructure and avoiding large investments in new equipment,” Michael Robinson, Citel’s CEO, said in a statement.
As with Citel’s other products, EXTender IP600 provides a phased migration path to VoiP, allowing enterprises to enjoy the advantages of an IP-based, centralized PBX now while protecting their existing telephony investments.
Each year, INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine editors bestow Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated vision, leadership and attention to detail.
“Citel has proven it is committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace,” INTERNET TELEPHONY Editor-in-Chief Rich Tehrani said in a statement. “We’re proud to honor the company’s hard work and accomplishments.”
