ClearOne CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 Now Certified Interoperable with Mirial Desktop Video Conferencing Solution

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

ClearOne, a manufacturer of high definition (HD) audio conferencing products, has announced that its CHAT 50 USB personal speakerphone and CHAT 150 VC are certified interoperable with the Mirial Softphone desktop video conferencing solution.

That means mobile workers armed with the Mirial (News - Alert) Softphone on their laptops can use the compact and highly-portable CHAT 50 personal speakerphone for crystal clear audio when holding video conferencing sessions while on the road. Similarly, workers with the softphone deployed on their desktop computers can use the CHAT 150 VC tabletop speakerphone (which is designed specifically for video conferencing systems) for super clear audio when holding video conferencing sessions in the office.

The Mirial Softphone is a software-only client for professional quality video conferencing. The company claims it is the first desktop video conferencing system to deliver full HD (1080p) support, embedded MCU functionality, and advanced media encryption.

The Mirial Softphone is compliant with all major visual communications standards and can be integrated into any visual communications network. With the Mirial Softphone, any user with a webcam and a PC can take advantage of the benefits of visual communication in a totally secure environment.

In order to be certified interoperable, the CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 had to undergo compatibility testing through Mirial's certification program. Technical teams at both Mirial and ClearOne (News - Alert) worked together to certify that the products interoperated successfully. The Mirial team reported that multiple trials produced a smooth and satisfactory user experience with audio from the CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 that was clear and natural-sounding.

"Interoperability has always been a primary concern within Mirial's technical development process," said Cristoforo Mione (News - Alert), VP business development at Mirial, in a release. "Certified product compatibility is a big benefit for the end user, since it eliminates a user's frustration at getting different out-of-the-box solutions to work together effectively. We appreciate ClearOne's willingness to work with us and provide our customers with plug-and-play solutions that offer the highest-quality performance with the least effort possible.”

“As the deployment of VoIP softphones and desktop video conferencing continues to become more mainstream, we are seeing a tremendous increase in demand for our speakerphones," said Dave Petricig, vice president of North American telephony sales at ClearOne. "New users of video conferencing applications soon find that their laptop or PC does not provide adequate microphone coverage, sufficient echo and noise cancellation or high quality sound from the speakers. The marriage of our CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 with the Mirial Softphone solution will ensure high quality audio and video to give users a positive experience and benefit from the adoption of this technology.”

ClearOne made news in August when it introduced the CHAT 60, a new personal speakerphone specifically designed for use with Skype (News - Alert). The newest of ClearOne's award-winning personal conferencing speakerphones, the Skype-certified CHAT 60 easily connects to laptops or PCs via USB for natural, hands-free communication. Just like ClearOne’s other high definition audio conferencing systems, the CHAT 60 contains HDConference, ClearOne's suite of high-performance audio technologies that includes full duplex, echo cancellation, noise reduction and adaptive modeling, thus it delivers crystal-clear audio.
