Amika Mobile Corporation has announced the launch of two personal safety mobile apps on Google (News - Alert) Play Store, which will enable users of the app to send out a panic alert as well as to send out the safe arrival message. The mobile app Amika Panic is designed for smartphones allowing users to send out a panic alert during an emergency situation indicating their location from virtually anywhere. The Amika I-am-OK app lets the users send out information when they reach their destination safely to indicate that they are out of danger. The two apps received highly positive reviews in the ASIS 2013 Accolades products category in the ASIS People's Choice Award.
In a release, Sue Abu-Hakima, the Chief Executive Officer at Amika Mobile (News - Alert), said “The release of Amika Panic and Amika I-am-OK are key milestones for Amika Mobile. In a world where travelers are kidnapped, female students are attacked on campus, or people just want peace of mind, these applications make a lot of sense as they not only deliver the panic or I-am-Ok indication, they also provide the location to the security teams and loved ones.”
Amika Panic is designed for smartphone users at work or away from work to trigger emergency notification in the event of a disaster. The app is targeted particularly for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) to work enterprise users, a segment which is expected to reach 50 percent of an organization’s workforce by 2017, according to a report from Gartner (News - Alert). For personal use, the app can be easily downloaded from the Android store.
For enterprise level application, Amika Panic works in tandem with Amika Mobility Server (AMS) allowing organization-wide communication in the event of an emergency by triggering alerts across all networks in the organization and all devices connected to such networks. The app allows an organization’s security team to customize profiles for sending alerts to specific employees based on their role and location, in any emergency situation.
Amika Mobile Corporation is engaged in the development of products and solutions to communicate and control during emergency or critical situations. The company’s proprietary solution, AMS, is designed for ideal application in areas such as airports, sports complexes, campuses and shopping centers, where people are mostly not registered in the contacts database. AMS can automatically identify the mobile devices of users within the scope of its reach to send out emergency notifications to alert people about any unforeseen situation.
