Backupify (News - Alert), the leading provider of data protection and management services for organizations that rely on cloud-based applications, recently launched new version of Backupify Snapshot, a simple, powerful tool for IT administrators to extract and download a complete Google (News - Alert) Apps account for any user on their domain.
The solution enables administrators to control data loss and gain control over their cloud environment. With Snapshot, administrators can establish the same workflows and controls in the cloud that they had with their on-premise software deployments. Also, the users can easily compress the entire Google Apps account to a ZIP file that can be easily downloaded to a local machine. This way a user can also delete the Google Apps account without any fear of data loss.
“Snapshot is essentially a data liberation tool that enables users to have unlimited and unconstrained access to their valuable business data by downloading that data locally.”
“Backupify allows companies to move to the cloud with confidence by giving them more control over their valuable business data in the cloud,” said CEO and Co-Founder, Rob May, in a statement. “Snapshot is essentially a data liberation tool that enables users to have unlimited and unconstrained access to their valuable business data by downloading that data locally.”
The solution has already received tremendous appreciation across various domains. Already, more than 500 businesses have saved considerable amounts by selecting Snapshot for their archiving and de-provisioning process requirements.
“The decision to use Snapshot was a no-brainer – it’s simple, cost-effective and works like a charm every time,” said Chris Hazzard, VP Creative Director, Sanborn Media Factory. “Now, if one of our employees leaves or we need to delete an unused account, we simply select the user, hit a button, and download a zip file with all their files – saving us $50 per year for each account.”
In other news, Backupify recently announced the private beta launch of CloudSight Search, a unified search and archiving service for cloud computing.
