Good Technology Offers Secure Mobile Access For Enterprise Apps and Tools

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Corporate IT professionals spend sleepless nights worrying about the ever increasing external threats that could compromise private data and constantly endeavor to find new means to prevent data loss that could cripple the organization.

Well, there is some good news around the corner. Good Technology, the leader in multi-platform enterprise mobility, has released its Good for Enterprise product, that includes the Good Mobile Access secure Web browser that will allow mobile users to access intranets, Web-Enabled apps and document repositories behind the corporate firewall. The absence of inbound firewall holes and extra VPN infrastructure ensures end-to-end encryption of over-the-air data.

It offers a seamless user experience through the browser icon and directly from links embedded in mails. Separation and encryption of enterprise and personal data that includes browser cache, bookmarks and downloaded files, all take place inside the Good secure enterprise container. A single, integrated, Web-based management console and over-the-air policies augment the security features.

The secure Web browser, which is the company's latest enhancement for enterprise apps and collaboration beyond e-mail is currently available for iOS devices 4.0 and higher and Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange platforms. The browser will shortly be available for extended platforms.

In a press release, John Herrema, senior vice president of corporate strategy for Good Technology (News - Alert) said, "With the release of Good Mobile Access, we're boosting enterprise productivity by enabling secure mobile access to Intranets, Web-enabled enterprise applications and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Sharepoint.”

He further added that with the latest addition customers can now achieve the same level of security as they do for messaging with no new infrastructure that will expose their networks, apps, or data to external threats.

In a related news release, Sprint (News - Alert) and Good Technology announced a partnership to provide business-grade security and full device management features on Sprint’s lineup of popular Android (News - Alert) devices that business customers want most.
