Sciforma Picks Ipswitch's File Transfer Software

By Arun Satapathy, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Ipswitch’s (News - Alert) file transfer division announced Wednesday that Sciforma, a worldwide project and process management software solutions and services company, recently deployed WS_FTP Server v. 6.1 and WS_FTP Professional 2007, one of the most popular transfer clients available in the market.

This file transfer software includes essential features such as security and usability that  were prime factors behind the transaction. The Ipswitch File Transfer division develops and markets an array of managed file transfer solutions. Its brands offer secure file transfer solutions to global users.

Sciforma Corporation which offers advanced project and process management software solutions and services to global clients is known for developing industry-first features and applications that have spurred innovation within the process and project management communities.

"We purchased WS_FTP because it was very easy to implement and we could better manage different levels of users," said Rob DeVenuto, senior account executive at Sciforma, in a statement. "Our employees and customers are finding the synchronization capabilities particularly useful. We previously had issues connecting to servers in remote locations, but by setting up an automated schedule with WS_FTP, we were able to solve the problem."

WS_FTP Server v. 6.1 delivers powerful enterprise-level security, granular administrative control over server access and user permissions, event-driven automation, robust logging capabilities for auditing and compliance, and best-in-class performance and reliability -- all with an easy to use Web-based user interface. The server scales virtually unlimited number of user accounts and concurrent user connections, and supports FTP, SSL and SSH protocol connections.

"Our users also like the folder link capabilities," said DeVenuto. "When making changes to a Website they needed to change files in multiple directories and then sync. Now they are able to change directories on one and then auto change other machines. It's very slick and very easy."
