Customer Service Software: Salesforce.com Grants Equity Awards

Under the company’s 2006 Inducement Equity Incentive Plan, Salesforce granted equity awards to new employees connected with the recently acquired Heroku and Dimdim.

In accordance with New York Stock Exchange Rule 303A.08, the Inducement Equity Incentive Plan granted restricted stock awards and restricted stock units to non-executive employees who had been employed by Heroku when Salesforce acquired the company. The grant awards also include granting RSU’s to 35 employees from Dimdim which are subject to a five-year term and vest over four years.

Heroku takes advantage of the Ruby language and provides platform-as-a-service offerings. As Ruby is the leading development language used to write Cloud 2 apps that are social and work in real-time, Heroku brings this language to Salesforce’s increasing customer service software applications.

Joining the Salesforce team recently was Dimdim, provider of cloud-based enterprise applications. Dimdims unique software is utilized by Salesforce to bring real-time capabilities to its customer service software including its famed Chatter messaging application.
