Convio Unveils New Constituent Engagement Solution for Nonprofits

Convio, a provider of on-demand constituent engagement solutions that enable nonprofit organizations to maximize the value of every relationship, announced the launch of Luminate, a new cloud-based constituent engagement solution for the nonprofit market.

Luminate combines Convio's highly successful online fundraising suite with a proven customer relationship management (CRM) platform to meet the complex needs of large, enterprise nonprofits, according to company officials.

Over the last five years, the nonprofit sector has undergone evolution. Donors have migrated from primarily engaging with nonprofits through direct mail to engaging with nonprofits through a variety of different channels -- direct mail (traditional), digital, social and mobile.

This open extensible cloud-based constituent engagement solution allows nonprofits to analyze and cultivate relationships with donors, advocates and other constituents. By leveraging this solution, non-profit organizations can design tailored, integrated, multi-channel campaigns that are beneficial to both the mission and the individual supporter.

Luminate consists of two core suites: Luminate Online, which includes e-mail marketing, fundraising advocacy and events; and Luminate CRM, which includes robust campaign management, moves management, direct marketing capabilities and business intelligence and analytics.

The solution integrates direct mail, face-to-face, and other traditional direct channels with online, mobile and social channels. The open platform offers several benefits. It eliminates the need for multiple databases, provides access to real-time information across the organization, and integrates online and offline channels.

With Luminate, nonprofits can deepen constituent relationships by better anticipating needs, interests and passions, and providing relevant interactions and opportunities for participation, according to company officials. By improving constituent engagement, nonprofits can improve fundraising, develop more passionate advocates, fashion more committed volunteers and streamline operations.

Recently, Convio formed a strategic partnership with Constant Contact (News - Alert) to integrate e-mail marketing from Constant Contact with Convio Common Ground customer relationship management (CRM).

This partnership focuses on helping small and mid-sized nonprofits create, grow and maximize the value of relationships with donors, volunteers and other constituents through this integration.

Convio also announced that it’s offering its team with a nonprofit's professional staff to plan, execute and evaluate strategies for acquiring, engaging and retaining constituents across the organization.

“Luminate is intended to be a game changer in the sector as we shift from more traditional forms of engagement to a combination of traditional, digital and social,” said Gene Austin, president and CEO of Convio, in a statement. “Like the for-profit sector, nonprofits need to see the entire picture, they need to be able to analyze data across all channels and look forward to better predict giving and other engagement levels.”

Through Luminate, Convio allows nonprofits to make more informed decisions, to create more compelling campaigns, to engage their constituents in more profound and moving ways. “We want to make the nonprofit professional's life easier, so they can focus more time and energy on their mission,” Austin added.
