These days, more and more businesses are turning to video conferencing as a means to conduct live meetings with clients without traveling. The popular trend has is becoming more of a fixture in most companies’ budgets, particularly during tough economic times.

With video conferencing solutions, members participate in the meeting from all over the world. And in a world where more and more businesses are going global, the demand for solutions to help companies be more productive while reducing costs is on the rise. One such solution is conference phones.

“In this world of globalization there is a huge demand of video conference equipment,” Thomas Annerino, IT manager at Telcom & Data, wrote in the company’s blog

To address this need, a number of companies, including Telcom & Data, a provider of business phone systems and conferencing equipment, are manufacturing and supplying conferencing equipment. Officials with the Chicago-based company said one important feature needed for video conferencing is a VoIP gateway.

VOIP gateways allow paging communications on the Internet. Features include:
  •  Ethernet connectivity and full IP compatibility with existing routers and WAN infrastructure
  • Voice compression to 5.3k bps per call with support for multiple algorithms
  • Direct connection to a telephone or PBX (News - Alert)
  • Configuration and management using a Web browser or Microsoft Windows.
In addition to manufacturing conference phone equipment and VoIP gateways Telcom & Data Inc. also offers customer support for conferencing equipment, company officials said.
