Avaya DevConnect Program Approves Konftel 300 Conference Phones Application

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

Konftel AB announced that its Konftel 300 product is now compliant with IP office, Communication Manager and Tenovis I5 and 55 solutions from Avaya (News - Alert).

The Konftel 300 application enables businesses to conduct phone meetings or conference calls with clear audio quality, thereby reducing travel costs and time invested in meetings. The application also reduces carbon dioxide emissions by replacing business meetings requiring travel with phone meetings.

Europe-based Konftel is a manufacturer of conference phones. Its phones are built on the company’s patented OmniSound technology for clear sound.

Avaya, a provider of intelligent communications solutions, helps companies transform their businesses to achieve marketplace advantage. The company’s solutions are used mainly for IP telephony, unified communications, contact centers and communications-enabled business processes.

Konftel AB is a gold member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program. The program’s goal is to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that can interoperate with Avaya technology, thereby enhancing the value of a company’s investment in its network.

“Avaya is one of the leading brands for communication. This strategic membership in the DevConnect program will help us build our business by serving customers more efficiently and effectively,” said Peter Renkel, CEO at Konftel AB, in a statement. “The compliance-test means that the market can confidently purchase the Konftel 300, knowing they will function optimally with their Avaya systems.”

Konftel AB, being the gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program is eligible to submit its products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, New Jersey.

A team of Avaya engineers have been appointed at Test Lab. The team mainly develops a comprehensive test plan for each application submitted by a company, in order to verify whether it is Avaya compliant or not.

The positive result of the compliance test guarantees businesses to add best-in-class capabilities confidently to their network, even without having to replace their existing infrastructure, thereby speeding-up the deployment of new applications and also reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

“By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Konftel who are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, Vice President, Developer Relations and Technical Alliances, Avaya, in a statement.

Rossman added: “They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, more than whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multi vendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line.”
