intergenia Selects Scality for Cloud Storage

By Hans Lewis, TMCnet Contributor

Leading German Web Hosting provider intergenia has selected Scality cloud storage software to provide a Cloud Storage solution for its customers. intergenia operates worldwide out of data-centers in Europe and USA through its brands PlusServer, serverloft and SERVER4YOU. intergenia customers are mainly web-focused companies that need a fast and reliable Internet infrastructure for their products.
Jochen Berger, CTO at intergenia said, "Our goal is to have a fast, reliable and scalable storage solution and Scality's S3 compatible API provides a great opportunity for us. We believe there is a big market for cloud storage and that European customers are looking for a local provider that offers cloud storage with high SLA's and great support." Berger added, "We first met Scality at Webhostingday in Germany this year and selected Scality after examining storage solutions Mezeo, Caringo and others. The experienced management team behind Scality and the opportunity to get a chunk in the fast growing cloud storage market by using existing and widely used interfaces made the decision for Scality easy.'
Serge Dugas, chief sales and marketing officer for Scality said, "Hosting providers want to take a share in the exponentially growing cloud storage market which was created by Amazon S3. They need object storage technology that is simple to deploy, which minimizes initial investment, yet enables customers to scale-up rapidly. Scality's technology and pay-as-you-grow pricing model deliver just that, and in addition, our S3-API enables ISP's and hosting companies to provide services and applications similar to Amazon S3."
Scality has developed a massively-scalable storage platform providing significantly easier application deployment at a fraction of the cost of traditional storage. Delivered as a software solution, Scality can be deployed to enable email solutions for cable and telecom operators or as a system to enable and grow cloud storage services at hosting providers or other storage-intensive services.
Scality sells direct to Internet service providers, cable operators, fixed-line, mobile operators and hosting companies and through Value Added distribution channels. The cloud storage company has offices in Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo.
