Colocation Leader Telehouse Reflects on Partnership with Sidera

Telehouse America customers will now have access to fast, direct connections between major financial exchanges and leading colocation facilities in the greater New York and New Jersey metro are, via low latency fiber routes thanks to its partnership with telecommunications provider Sidera Networks (News - Alert).

“Telehouse’s partnership with Sidera Networks offers our large base of financial firms and financial service providers the secure, low latency connectivity they require to conduct trades and transactions quickly and seamlessly,” said Akio Sugeno, vice president of Internet Engineering, Operations and Business Development at Telehouse, in the company’s recent newsletter. “Sidera’s ability to provide reliable, cost-effective solutions backed by solid service and support aligns with Telehouse’s goals and deep commitment to our customers.”

As part of its partnership, Telehouse will have access to Sidera’s large-scale, low-latency network ring which includes direct connection with leading financial exchanges and major colocation sites including Telehouse’s premier carrier neutral data centers in New York City, Chelsea, at 85 10th Avenue, 25 Broadway, and the TELEPORT at 7 Teleport Drive on Staten Island. These facilities offer low or no cross connect fees, according to company officials.

Sidera, a company known throughout the industry for catering to the needs of the financial services market, meets the demands for reliability, flexibility, low-latency, diversity, and high capacity bandwidth. Their secure routes transport numerous financial trades conducted on the major stock exchanges in the New York metropolitan area.

Sidera Networks serves the communications needs of all carrier and business customers, offering an all-inclusive suite of facilities-based services throughout the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, Chicago and Toronto.

In related news, Telehouse is heading to China’s South Coast with the creation of Telehouse Hong Kong CCC. Slated to begin service in December 2011, the new facility will boast premier carrier neutral data center services.

The new Hong Kong facility will mark the third new data center to open this year and the 42nd data center in the Telehouse global portfolio.

“This premier facility in Hong Kong will be the first Telehouse data center to target the cloud computing industry,” Executive Vice President of Telehouse America Noriyuki Kita said in a statement. “Telehouse seeks to meet marketplace demands, which in this case, targets the popularity and accelerated growth of Cloud Computing due to its reduced costs and capacity to meet the demands of businesses of all sizes. Telehouse has responded directly to increasing demand in the Asian market from corporations moving their businesses’ IT needs to cloud platforms with a trusted, experienced global carrier-neutral colocation provider.”
