Pacific Control Systems LLC, Dubai, a provider of ICT enabled managed services and converged engineering solutions for buildings and infrastructure projects, has announced that it is going to launch a cloud computing lab in collaboration with the Vienna University of Technology or ‘TU Vienna.’ The new cloud computing lab will be helpful in advanced research and development on ICT enabled managed energy services solutions for buildings and infrastructure.

The company had set up the first ever Global Command Control Center for energy and managed engineering services in the world, which commissions, measures and verifies the carbon footprint of its clients and converts them into carbon financial instruments in real time; to allow the clients to monitor and manage their assets. Deploying its enterprise platform named ‘GALAXY’ that is hosted on the Pacific Controls Cloud Computing Network, the company connects global assets to the cloud in real time using its M2M hardware.

With the help of the ‘Pacific Controls Cloud Computing Research Lab,’ the company will be able to achieve a number of strategic scientific developments, such as the ability to carry out research and development in enhanced virtual software services.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Vienna University of Technology,” commented Dilip Rahulan, chairman and chief executive officer at Pacific Controls. “It is our constant endeavor to support ICT enabled managed services solutions for buildings and infrastructure. Through the use of our virtual software technology or ‘Gbots,’ a new paradigm can be created to revolutionize managed services for buildings and infrastructure achieving substantial energy savings and reducing operational costs.”

Design and development strategy will be reviewed by Professor Schahram Dustdar of the Distributed Systems Group of the Vienna University of Technology, who will also deploy ICT enabled managed services solutions for buildings and infrastructure to carry out scientific research in the field of virtual software services developed by the company.

In February 2010, Pacific Controls entered an agreement with Etisalat (News - Alert), a telecom service provider to jointly work towards offering machine to machine or ‘M2M’ applications and support to telco’s clients.
