Zeus Technology (News - Alert), the only pure software-based application traffic management (Application Delivery Controller) company, has unveiled the Zeus Elastic Application Delivery (ZEAD) platform.

Officials with Zeus Technology said that the solution enables organizations to deliver fast, secure and available applications across any combination of physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures.

Company officials said that ZEAD platform allows IT professionals to accelerate the speed of their online applications from a cloud environment with tools for hybrid cloud application delivery, cloud bursting and balancing.

“Consumers expect zero latency while shopping online and will likely go elsewhere if their experience is anything but fast and responsive,” said Phong Nguyen, vice president of research and  development of Gilt Groupe, in a statement.

Nguyen said that the Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform has helped the company ensure customer loyalty and retention, while maintaining the company’s strong brand identity.

“By preventing downtime through Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform, we’re able to better deliver an excellent user experience, increase revenue and decrease back-end costs. We see Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform as an integral component to our business and overall growth,” he said.

According to company officials, ZEAD platform is available on the widest range of hypervisors including VMware, Xen, KVM and OracleVM.

It is also available on most of the leading cloud computing platforms including Amazon EC2, Logicworks (News - Alert), Joyent, Voxel and Rackspace.

Earlier in August Zeus Technology had announced that USONYX, Singapore’s Web hosting provider, has joined the Zeus Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) program.

The partnership will allow USONYX to lease Zeus Load Balancer to its customers and Zeus’ software will become an integral part of its complex hosting portfolio.

The Zeus SPLA program is based on a non-perpetual, usage-based subscription model, so customers only pay for what they used the previous month.

Zeus’ scalable, highly-performant load balancing software, allows organizations to intelligently manage, control and redirect traffic to their web-enabled applications to ensure its online web presence remains fast and continuously available to end-users.
