ECI Telecom has reportedly chosen PMC-Sierra’s ADM 622, ARROW 2488, TEMAP 84FDL and HDLIU 32 devices for its BroadGate (BG) Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) family, including the BG-20 and BG-30.

 
Officials refer to Voice & Data, a telecom magazine in India, according to which ECI's BG family helped position the company as the number-one ranked transmission equipment vendor in India for the past three consecutive years.

 

PMC-Sierra (News - Alert) is a provider of broadband communications and storage semiconductors for metro, access, fiber to the home, wireless infrastructure, storage, laser printers and fiber access gateway equipment. PMC-Sierra’s chipset architecture provides ECI’s BG family with the uMSPP platform that enables operators to easily provision new Ethernet-based services. This cost-effective and highly scalable platform also helps maintain high network resiliency.

 

Alon Moshes, vice president and head of the MSPP Line of Business at ECI, explained that with PMC-Sierra's metro transport solutions they have a flexible architecture capable of scaling from STM-1 (155M) to STM-16 (2.5G). By leveraging common software and hardware components, the architecture also minimizes development costs.

 

Moshes noted that his company aims to enable the exponential growth of wireless backhaul infrastructure, and acknowledged PMC-Sierra’s help that strengthened their position in the market with cost-effective, future-proof platforms.
